Girelės Botanical Reserve
This reserve has an area of 18 hectares.
It is located in Joniškėlis district, to the north of the wood Girelė. Natural, typical grasslands of northern Lithuania, where dominate typical bent grass (Anthoxanthum), blue sedge (Carex), red wild orchid (Orchis) and one more rare plant from orchid family (Platanthera bifolia). We can find there the Lithuanian orchid from orchid family: Dactylorhiza baltica, which is recorded in the Lithuanian Red Book of plants. In 1998, the territory was declared as a botanical reserve protected by the municipality.
