Memorial stone to a frontier-guard Mykolas Repšys in Saločiai
This memorial stone was unveiled on the 6th July 2007, in the park of Saločiai. Over five tonnes weighting stone from the Šakarniai gravel-pit was used to build this monument. Mrs. Birutė Titaitienė gave a marble plaque on which are engraved these words: “In this park, on the 26th June 1941 26, a border policeman Mykolas Repšys raised the Lithuanian national tricolor flag, protesting against the occupation regime. For that, he was murdered by the Soviet invaders special troops on the 28th June 1941“. The author of the monument is Mr. Antanas Tamašauskas from Žadeikoniai.
