Cross to innocent people who died in exile in Siberia
This Cross was built in November 1989, in the village of Grūžiai. Its purpose is to commemorate the tragedy of the Lithuanian nation: those who were innocently killed in Siberian exile from1941 to 1953. Its author is Mr. Vytautas Gudonis. The base of the monument is built of fieldstones and the Cross itself is made of rough-hewn stone and later it was polished. The Cross is adorned by rising sun's rays that symbolize the dawn.
