Cross to the 50th anniversary of the 1863-year uprising in Kiemėnai
The iron cross on the edge of the village has been standing here since the year 1913 when the village youth erected it with a hidden intention: to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1863-year uprising under the rule of Russian tsar, to honour uprising victims, book smugglers, country teachers and members of the 1905-year Lithuanian movement in educational and local government institutions.
