Cross to commemorate 60 years of service to God by the priest Jonas Rimša from Saločiai

Jonas Rimša served as a priest assistant (altarist) in the parish of Saločiai from 1975 to 1993. The golden anniversary of his service was celebrated with a jubilee in 1980. A cross was erected in the churchyard to mark the 60th anniversary of service to God of the priest. The day of the blessing of the cross is imprinted on the fundament – June 14. The priest had been living in Pasvalys since 1992 June 26 and until his death. Since 3 September 1993 he had been an assisting priest at Pasvalys Saint John Baptist parish. He met his 90th anniversary in Pasvalys, he celebrated his 65th anniversary at the service of God in Pasvalys too. He died in April 21 1996 in. Pasvalys. He was buried in the yard of Pasvalys Saint John Baptist Church next to other priests.
